In 2000, the development of the MAXI BAZAR brand began in south-eastern France, where it opened with a first store in Antibes, in the heart of the old town. From 2002, the opportunity to open large stores in shopping areas opened up in the Draguignan region (83). Immediate success based on a business model that emphasizes choice, proximity, welcoming customers and sharing an experience already gained in the city center.

In 1977, the company was established in the Paris region in Bois Colombes and Courbevoie (92) with the acquisition of three drugstores in the city center.

In 2008, the first neighborhood store was opened in Switzerland, located in the city center of Sion. A nice success, which allowed very quickly to grow to more than a dozen outlets in Western Switzerland within a few years. In September 2016, at the opening of the Lyon store, Maxi Bazar was able to upgrade its visual identity and its commercial concept, thanks to an exceptional location, a listed building (former Bank of France) in the heart of the old town in the second arrondissement. The brand managed to eliminate the "hard discount" aspect while maintaining a high quality, wide and attractive offer. Today, Maxi Bazar counts 56 stores in France and 34 in Switzerland and aims to continue its development to achieve its opening objectives while maintaining control of its growth.

Today, the Maxi Bazar concept knows how to enhance its product ranges and allows its customers to move freely, to browse the different worlds offered to them around the furnishings of the person and the home, giving them the opportunity to be freely inspired to meet their desires. Thanks to the experience of the teams and the skills acquired over the years, the managers of the MAXI BAZAR brand create and ensure its development, preserving and sharing its values based on the family nature of the group, which has been successful for over 30 years with stores ranging from 600 to 3000 m². An ambitious company that continues to expand its store portfolio, maintaining and updating its existing stores. The MAXI BAZAR brand can be operated in various locations, both in the city centre and in shopping centres. However, the core of this brand is the city centre, offering customers a range of products that are rarely, if ever, available in the city centre - and always at the best price.
