Volg Konsumwaren AG is very close to Swiss agriculture. It supplies around 930 small-scale food outlets, including around 600 Volg stores. Volg is at home in Swiss villages, even in the remotest valleys. Even in the smallest of sales areas, Volg village shops offer a range of products for everyday needs. Added to this are attractive opening hours, friendly staff and, above all, a personal shopping atmosphere. Volg shops are often meeting places where people still know each other personally. Many Volg stores also have integrated postal agencies, so that shopping can be combined with postal business. Volg is the specialist for village shops and retail trade in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. Customer proximity is lived - as a nearby shopping opportunity as well as in personal contact.

Volg is sustainable through the philosophy alone of shopping close to home. The vast majority of Volg customers live in the village and shop on foot or by bike. Employees also often live in the village. This saves many kilometres by car. Instead, Volg travels to the remotest valleys and takes on complex logistics. Three distribution centres ensure that transport distances remain short.

Volg is also sustainable thanks to the range of products on offer in the village shops. 80 percent of the food turnover is achieved with Swiss products. However, the commitment to Switzerland as a production location goes beyond Volg as a shopping location. For example, Volg has all its advertising material - from customer magazines to campaign posters - printed in Switzerland on Swiss paper. Sustainability is a fundamental principle at Volg.
